Vocal Improvisation for Singers: Part 2!

A wonderful opportunity to learn about and experiment with vocal improvisation

Saturday 8th October 2016

1:30pm - 4pm

Limited to 20 places!

The Workshop:

We had such a good time and created some wonderful music using our voices during our last Improvisation Workshops in August. The overwhelming positive feedback was remarkable considering that most people arrived with nervous butterflies!

So, due to popular demand, we're delighted to offer a second opportunity for anyone to attend this half-day workshop. If you are interested in liberating your voice and unlocking your musical potential, then this is a workshop not to be missed!

This is an area of music that Jim is extremely passionate about and he'd love to inspire you to discover the freedom and creativity of using your voice through guided musical improvisation. Plus, you will learn some useful frameworks and theory to help you to improvise within the safety of a small, relaxed and fun group setting. It's perfect to build confidence and help you transfer these skills into a different environment.

We'll revisit some of the ideas from the first workshop, such as the purpose of each improvisation, using the pentatonic scale, understanding tension and release, and moving forward to develop and refine our ideas: improvising through different genres and rhythms and perhaps lyrics! This workshop will be suitable for newcomers and those who attended the first time too!

If you would like to attend the morning Music Theory workshop as well as this session then please drop us an email and we will arrange a discounted booking at £40 for the whole day.

A half-day workshop to study more music theory for singers

Saturday 8th October 2016

The Workshop:

We were so inspired and really impressed with both the interest, achievement and feedback from our previous Theory Workshop held in July!

We have been approached to put on a follow up, where we will go revisit some of the basics and move forward in their application.

This half-day workshop is designed for those who attended the earlier workshop, but it is open to anyone who wants to learn the foundations in music theory. It will benefit anyone who wishes to use this knowledge in their singing pursuits.

Tickets are priced at £25. NB. If you are attending our Theory Workshop for the first time, you will need to purchase a workbook, manuscript paper and utensils, which we will provide at a supplement of £5 cash on the day.

It would also be incredibly beneficial to take what you learn from this Theory Workshop and apply it in our Vocal Improvisation workshop in the afternoon. Should you wish to buy tickets to both workshops, please drop us an email and we will arrange a discounted booking at £40 for the whole day.
